The @BookItForwardUK scheme is based on the Pay It Forward philosophy from the 2007 book by Catherine Ryan Hyde. When someone pays you an act of kindness or good deed, instead of returning the favour, you do a good deed for someone else; ie, you pay it forward. There is also an absolutely charming film that can explain it, starring Kevin Spacey, Helen Hunt and Haley Joel Osment.

#BookItForwardUK is similar. When you receive a book, read it, love it, review it, then give it to someone else. Not everyone can afford or access books and this is a great tragedy in the real world, so let’s share our favourite imaginary worlds with each other and make it a little happier! However, we should also thank the author, so with every #BookItForwardUK you should write an honest review and post it on your blog, on Goodreads, on Amazon, Facebook, Google+, Tumblr, anywhere you can!

There are two ways to take part in #BookItForwardUK. 1) Support your local library, take out books, love and cherish the sweet, short time you have together, return it in perfect condition, give reviews and convince a friend to go take it out after you. (The taking it back to the library on the due date is important!) Or 2) you can WIN ONE!

To win the latest #BookItForwardUK, find a currently running competition below . Unfortunately this is all from my own pocket so only available in the UK due to post prices. If you win a #BookItForwardUK, make sure to review the book (everywhere you can!) and let me know who you send to next, so we can keep track of the chain!

@BookItForwardUK 1: Phantom Thief Jeanne : @Natari_Himi > @pinkspyderuk

@BookItForwardUK 2: The Boy Who Cried Wolf : @TinyOwl_Books > @Natari_Himi > ? TBC

Forward a book!

Are you an author or publisher? Do you want your book to be reviewed and then passed on to @BookItForwardUK? Great, contact Natari on Twitter via @Natari_Himi. After receiving the book, Natari will take care of all expenses for promoting the review and giveaway, and the author/publisher will be added into the Rafflecopter entry methods.

If you would like to support @BookItForwardUK in a non-book way, the following would be gratefully received:

  • Β£Money. Because good books have a price and so does the postal service.
  • Padded Envelopes. For sending out said good books.
  • Postage Stamps.
  • Tea. It basically fuels this blog. Loose leaf and bags both accepted.

Get in touch if you would like to help!
